Rokoko Vision releases, offering Dual-Camera Motion capture

A new way to do motion capture with Rokoko

Rokoko recently released their dual motion capture setup called Rokoko Vision, and it's pretty good!

It requires two cameras, one that's connected directly to your computer and another that's external but can link over Wi-Fi. After your cameras are set up, you film yourself and upload the footage to Rokoko, where it's converted and sent back to you as animation data.

Is Rokoko Vision good?

I was pleasantly surprised by how accurate the motion capture is, the addition of the second camera, as well as the ability to clean up the animation in the editor makes this one of the better video-based motion capture solutions i've used.

Unfortunately though, it's a bit tedious to set up. You have to print out the calibration boards and calibrate the cameras and ground each time you set them up, and that can be annoying if you don't have a dedicated space to work with or if you need to work quickly.

Overall I think it's a pretty good solution if you're an animator trying to save some time or you're a streamer who wants to record custom emotes. There's a 14-day trial so you can mess around with it and see if its for you.
