Digital Twins Explained
What is a Digital Twin?
Have you ever wanted to test out an idea before executing it? Or visualize how something works? That's where a Digital Twin might come in.
A Digital Twin is a virtual copy of something that's created to simulate how it might behave in a real world setting. You'll notice I described it as "something," it could really be a lot of things, an object, a product, a process... even a person.

Digital Twins are often linked to real world data, which means that they're able to dynamically synchronize with their real world counterparts. You can find them being used in architecture, manufacturing, transportation--basically in a lot of STEM related fields.
How do I make a Digital Twin?
Due to diversity of Digital Twins, there are a number of companies in the business of producing them, a few examples would be Unity, Nvidia and Polycam, all of whom have expertise in realtime rendering and offer services creating Digital Twins.
If you find yourself developing a product, marketing one or even doing some data viz, a Digital Twin might be a great option for you.
